Our Organisation

Scottish War Blinded Member Scottish War Blinded is a registered charity that was established in 1915. Originally we were established to support blinded soldiers returning from World War 1. Read our history.

Today we support anyone who has served in the Armed Forces who has a visual impairment, whether they lost their sight during or after service. Find out more about who we can help.

We work closely with our sister charity Royal Blind and are managed by the same Chief Executive and Board. There is a Scottish War Blinded Committee that consists of five trustees and three representatives of the veterans’ community. The Scottish War Blinded Committee feeds into decisions made at Board level.
