The Scottish War Blinded managers are below:

Rebecca Barr, Director of Scottish War Blinded

  Rebecca Barr is the Director of Scottish War Blinded and has been with the charity since May 2016. She is responsible for leading the charity’s expansion of services.


Alison Cairns, Practice Lead

Alison Cairns Alison is a qualified social worker and previously worked for Glasgow City Council Social Work Services for nearly 25 years supporting and managing the Older Person’s Team, the Physical Disability Team, the Hospital Team and latterly, the Learning Disability Team.


Rosie McLaughlin, Practice Lead

Rosie McLaughlin Rosie is a qualified social worker and has worked in the field of sensory loss for nearly 30 years with local authorities around the country. She set up the Linburn Centre and now manages the Outreach Service.


Jim Thomson, Linburn Centre Manager

Jim is a qualified Remedial Gymnast (Physiotherapist) and has been involved in social care services for over 30 years.


Gillian McDonald, Hawkhead Centre Manager

Gillian has been with the Hawkhead Centre in Paisley since it first opened its doors back in 2017 - then as Deputy Manager - and has been instrumental in the service’s development and growth.  


Sandra Taylor, Lead Rehabilitation Officer

Sandra Taylor, Lead Rehabilitation Officer at Scottish War Blinded Sandra is Scottish War Blinded's Lead Rehabilitation Officer. A qualified Rehabilitation Officer, she worked for Renfrewshire’s Social Work Sensory Impairment Team for 17 years, supporting people of all ages, including children living with a vision impairment or hearing impairment, before joining the charity.
