Sally Ross, Hawkhead Centre Manager

Sally joined Scottish War Blinded in 2017 to oversee the development of the Hawkhead Centre in Paisley.

As Manager of the Hawkhead Centre, Sally manages a team of 14, working with veterans to develop a service that offers a person-centred programme of activities, rehabilitation, and support. The team’s goal is to enable veterans with sight loss to achieve individual goals and regain their confidence after sight loss.

Sally trained as a registered general nurse and started her career as a staff nurse working in elderly care in Glasgow and Inverness. She joined The Strathcarron Project in 1996 and was promoted to Manager there in 2010. She was responsible there for the provision of housing support, care at home and support services to adults and older people in Lochcarron.

Sally said: “I was delighted to accept the challenge of leading a new team in developing the Hawkhead Centre. It is a privilege to build a new service at such an amazingly well equipped and beautiful new building.”
