Application Support Team Leader

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Application Support Team Leader within the Scottish Braille Press, currently based at Craigmillar Park and relocating to Robertson Avenue in Spring 2018.


The role will be to manage the Applications Support team to identify and drive through business process and operating system improvements to support change requirements and efficiencies across the business. Provide application support to internal departments and work collaboratively with the management team, IT department and external clients and suppliers developers and clients regarding technology based change and improvement. You will have a strong focus on customer needs and the business context, benefits, key deliverables, scope and compliance.


Outreach Team Practice Lead

Due to an expansion of our services, Scottish War Blinded is looking to increase the management capacity for our innovative and highly regarded outreach service.


The outreach team is Scotland-wide, with staff in all areas providing a person-centred, responsive service to veterans with vision impairment. They work with members of Scottish War Blinded to identify and support their individual needs and so increase and maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.



Wood Workshop Technician

Scottish War Blinded, Royal Blind, Salary: £22,984FTE £16,417 pro rata, Position: Part Time, Closing Date: 02/04/2018, Location: Scottish War Blinded Hawkhead Centre, 198 Hawkhead Road, Paisley PA2 7BS

Would you like to join an exciting and unique service for Armed Forces veterans with a vision impairment?


Our new Hawkhead Centre opened at the start of October to provide an activity hub to support the independence of armed forces veterans with sight loss. We are looking for an experienced joiner or similar to help us run a newly set up wood workshop in the Centre. They will join a skilled and enthusiastic staff team working with our members to develop ways to support their independence. We are looking for someone who can share their passion for working with wood with those with a vision impairment.


Staff Nurse (Nights) - Maternity Cover

Care for Older People, Royal Blind, Salary: £27,030 - £30,480 FTE £16,072 - £18,123 (22 hours), Position: Part Time, Closing Date: 26/03/2018, Location: Braeside House, 81 Liberton Brae, Edinburgh EH16 6LE

A vacancy has arisen for a Staff Nurse (Adult or Mental Health) to work any 2 nights from 7 to cover maternity leave at Braeside House, a specialist care home to provide nursing care for vision impaired older people.


We are looking for an individual who has a genuine interest in caring for older people and who can assist in leading, motivating and supporting the care team in the delivery of relationship centred care for residents.


Hours:         22 hours per week


Pay:             £27,030 - £30,480 FTE per annum

                     £16,072 - £18,123 per annum (22 hours)
