Royal Blind, Scotland’s largest vision impairment charity, is looking for Care Assistant to join Jenny’s Well, our care home for older people with a vision impairment in Paisley.

 

Care Assistants will support the Registered Nurses to deliver a high standard of relationship centred care to older people with a vision impairment within a care home setting. The care provided will be personal outcome focused and promote dignity, privacy, independence and choice for the residents.

Would you like to join an exciting and unique service for Armed Forces veterans with a vision impairment?

 

Our Hawkhead Centre is an activity hub to support the independence of armed forces veterans with sight loss. We are looking for a kitchen assistant to work Tuesday and Wednesday to support the chef in all aspects of catering in the centre. You will work with the chef to plan and cook a varied and nutritious diet for attendees, and provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment in the kitchen and dining area.

An opportunity has arisen for experienced and qualified Play Workers to join Kidscene on a fixed term basis.  Kidscene is an after school and holiday club welcoming children with and without disabilities in an integrated environment in the Morningside area of Edinburgh.

 

Applicants should have a relevant SVQ Level 2 qualification or above, preferably in Play Work, and have experience of working with 4 – 18 year olds in a play environment.

Scotland’s largest vision impairment organisation is seeking to appoint a part time Policy and Research Officer to join our communications department. This role will support our Policy Manager to ensure that Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded policy campaigns have visibility, credibility and impact across a broad range of decision makers, elected representatives and influencers in Scotland.

 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a role related to policy development, gathering evidence through a range of research methods and using this data to produce policy documents and research-based publications.

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Volunteer Development Manager to lead the development and implementation of a sustainable volunteer strategy for Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded, where volunteers form an integral part of our activity and service delivery.

 

The Volunteer Development Manager will ensure that the most appropriate volunteering roles are established, developed and implemented, taking account of established best-practice in volunteering.

 

You will have a proven track record in leading and developing volunteer programmes, volunteer management and partnership working. With demonstrable ability to motivate and inspire others, you will be a good communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
