Would you like to join an exciting and unique service for Armed Forces veterans with a vision impairment?

 

Our Hawkhead Centre is an activity hub which supports the independence of armed forces veterans with sight loss. We are looking for a kitchen assistant to work Monday – Friday 11.30am-1.30pm to support the chef in all aspects of catering in the centre. You will work with the chef to plan and cook a varied and nutritious diet for attendees, and provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment in the kitchen and dining area.

Royal Blind, Scotland’s largest vision impairment charity, is looking for a Staff Nurse to join Braeside House, our care home in Edinburgh for older people with a vision impairment.

 

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for leading and delivering relationship centred care to vision impaired residents within Braeside House under the direction of the Charge Nurse. The post holder will be a crucial influence on staff to ensure that standards of care are set and maintained.

Trustee Chair (Royal Blind Group Pension Scheme)

Scottish War Blinded, Royal Blind, Salary: Voluntary Position (15-20 hours per year), Position: Part Time, Closing Date: 24/05/2019

Background:

The Royal Blind Group Pension Scheme is a final salary scheme providing benefits to over 400 current and former employees of Royal Blind [SC017167]. The scheme was closed to new entrants in 2006 but active members continue to accrue benefits. The scheme is currently in deficit on a technical provisions basis but benefits from a strong employer covenant. Scheme assets exceed £38m [Information correct as at 31 December 2018].

A vacancy has arisen on the Trustee Board for a suitably experienced pensions’ professional to help oversee the management of the scheme. The position is voluntary (although reasonable expenses may be considered). The successful candidate will be expected to serve for an initial term of 3 years, with the potential thereafter for re-appointment for a further 3 year term.

Together, we operate as the Royal Blind Group and employ over 600 staff.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Administrative Support Assistant to join the team within Royal Blind for a period of nine months, commencing June 2019.  The post holder is required to provide administrative support to various departments within the Head Office, including the Executive Support Department and the General Office.
